Rochester Hills Family Store
823 E. Auburn Rd., Rochester Hills, MI 48307
ph:248.852.3413

Description

Originally opened in the spring of 1997 in the Auburn-John R Square Shopping Plaza, the store occupied 30,124sqft of the former (A&P) building which it shared with then next door neighbor “Whirley Ball”. High shopper volume and strong donor support led to the stores expansion in 2003, which increased its size to 40,213sqft.  At that time it took on the distinction of being the largest Salvation Army Thrift Store in the country.  In 2007 the sales floor was increased further when a small boutique area was added by reclaiming space once used for a training room.  Additional remodeling, executed in the spring of 2009 was done as both a matter of maintenance, and to keep pace with shopping trends.  This expansive store has 7 fitting rooms, plenty of free parking and a convenient donation drop off center located at the rear of the building.  It provides employment to 50 people who are assisted regularly by 15 ARC Program beneficiaries and 4 volunteers.

Special events held as ’Rochester Hills Exclusive’ through the years include Jewelry Sales (2002 and 2005), Bridal Shows and Sales (2004 and 2006.  Most notably, an Antiques and Collectibles Auction, held annually in the spring at this site marked its 5th year in 2009.

Royal Oak Boutique Store
114 E. 4th St., Royal Oak, MI 48067
ph:248.542.6661

Description

Located in trendy and bustling downtown Royal Oak, the site opened prior to 1995 and enjoys the patronage of shoppers who arrive by car and on foot. This 7,934sqft store holds the distinction of having the smallest square footage of all of the stores in the Southeast MI ARC’s ‘chain’.

This location was most recently remodeled in 2011 into the Sally's on 4th Boutique; it offers spacious fitting rooms for the convenience of shoppers and the "Best of the Best Donations" from our SEMI ARC Thrift Stores.  Parking, both street side and in city owned lots is available nearby.  Donations are accepted daily through the donation center located at the west (ally) side of the building.  Store proceeds and donations support The Salvation Army’s Southeast MI A.R.C.

Because of customer demand, we expanded our accessories, shoes and jewelry & collectibles in several of our larger thrift stores. In addition, we hosted a successful boutique at The International Women's Show three consecutive years. Armed with this information, we believed the trendy community of Royal Oak would embrace this new concept in thrift. Because this location, one of our oldest, did not have the ability to expand, we evolved.
